Packaged bitumen delivered to the bitumen concrete plant in the solid form must be melted and heated to a pumping temperature (110 °C - 130 °C) before preparing the asphalt concrete mixture. The fusion plant consists of three or four chambers for loading packaged bitumen with a forklift.

In the lower part there is a cavity for the accumulation of molten bitumen with a volume of 3 m3. Thermal oil heated to 150°C circulates through tubular registers inside the plant. At the same time, bitumen, released from packaging, is loaded into the plant.

Under the influence of heat, bitumen is melted out of the package and flows into the storage cavity, from which it is periodically pumped out using a bitumen pumping station into the standard capacity of the ABZ.

When unpacking containers, the following sequence of actions must be performed:

• cut polyamide ties;
• remove the protective polypropylene cover;
• disassemble the plywood frame;
• remove the corrugated cardboard cover and the anti-adhesive bag;
• load bitumen into the receiving hopper of the heating device
• preheat to the required temperature.

Packaging materials are disposed in accordance with local legislation.
The cube shape provides convenient handling during loading and unloading, compact placement during multi-tiered storage and optimized transportation process, i.e. saving transportation and storage costs.

It is allowed to store containers on an open, flat, horizontal, solid platform.
Storage of containers in 2 tiers should be carried out in category 3 conditions according to GOST 15150
(air temperature +50oC to -65oC, relative humidity up to 98%).
